Who Are You?

By FDP

…Dear diary, there is a story I heard about a wise man who once asked three bricklayers what they were doing. One said, “I am laying bricks.” Another said, “I am building a wall”. The third one says, “I am building the cathedral.” Well, I realised that none of them were wrong but, how they defined themselves says a lot about their sense of purpose. When we are asked, “Who are you?” Sometimes, we say I am a doctor, a writer, a poet, a data analyst, an engineer, a CEO and many more. However, it is germane to note that we are no one and we are everyone. So, how we define ourselves says something about how deep our sense of purpose is.

Who are you?

According to Marianne Williamson’s most famous message from the book, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles”

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measures.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’

Actually, who are you not to be?
