“A mother’s arms are more comforting than anyone else’s.”– Princess DianaEvery 30th March is Mothering Sunday. It’s a day dedicated to celebrating the women who shape our lives in ways we often take for granted. Mothering Sunday is not just about flowers, cards,  exotic gifts, or fancy trips (though those are great, too). We honor the unspoken and sometimes underappreciated strengths of our women, mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and sisters. These women pour love, sacrifice, and resilience into everything they do.So, grab a hot cup of tea or coffee, and let’s take a moment to truly appreciate the women who make the world a little kinder, softer, and brighter for us all. (You can do a courteous bow in salutation).

Motherhood is a 24/7 job with no off days, sick days, promotions, and no paycheck. Yet, they show up daily, juggling over a thousand things simultaneously. Where do we begin? They are often tasked with remembering every doctor’s appointment, school project, PTA meeting, and so on. Emotionally, they are the family’s cheerleader, peacemaker, and therapist. And there is the physical aspect, the endless chores, sleepless nights, and other things that can be draining.Guess the crazy part? Most of this work goes unnoticed. But today, we see you. We honor you. And we want you to know that you are more than enough.

The Superpowers of Women

Women don’t just “do” things, they are transformers. Here are just a few of their superpowers:

1. The courage to keep going

Motherhood/ womanhood is not for the faint-hearted, from pregnancy, childbirth, and raising kids to adulthood. Or is it that from balancing careers to caring for the home, women face daily battles and still stand strong?

2. The emotional intelligence to hold a home

Women are emotionally intelligent, as they can sense when someone’s hurting before a word is spoken. They are the “emotional glue” of families and communities. They are great listeners, even in a noisy room. Women, particularly mothers, carry the weight of others’ pain (children, husbands, parents, and siblings) and still find ways to smile.

3. The art of making something out of nothing

Ever seen mothers turn leftovers into a five-star meal? Or create a birthday party even on a tight budget? This should bring back many childhood memories to any young person reading this post. Give a woman lemons and watch her turn them into lemonade. Women have magical ways of doing things that defy logic.

4. The strength to nurture without limits

A mother’s love isn’t just about hugs, cooking favorite meals, and buying gifts or bedtime stories. It’s about showing up in difficult times. This kind of love says, “I’ve got you no matter what,” even when she’s barely holding it together.
