How to Declutter Your Home
By Virtue Digest
Living room
The living room is usually the easiest room to declutter. Take a good look at your space. Are there any furniture pieces that are scarcely used and simply limit your freedom of movement? If this is the case, you can either find another purpose for those pieces or say your goodbyes. Little decorative bits and bobs are a bigger problem here. If something doesn’t suit your aesthetics or if it reminds you of some bad past events, it’s definitely not worth keeping.Bedroom
The most obvious problem when it comes to clutter in your bedroom is the wardrobe. If you feel the need to declutter, you probably have plenty of garments taking the valuable space in your wardrobe that you simply never wear. This may not be as easy as it sounds, but if you keep at it, you will feel much better. Basically, take all of your clothes out of the wardrobe and sort them in designated piles. Then you can see for yourself what items are your essentials and what items haven’t been worn for more than a year. Donate all the clothes that you haven’t worn recently or those that make you feel uncomfortable.Bathroom
Bathroom can be full of products that you never use but you simply can’t find it in you to go through them all and actually say goodbye. However, beauty products have an expiration date. This can be the first step in your bathroom declutter. Throw away anything that’s past its expiration date, changed its texture or smell. Further, take a good look at other things you have. If you have mixed feelings towards any of the bath and beauty products in your bathroom, the chances are that you will continue to stick with those that you absolutely love.In that respect, anything less than a Holy Grail product should be given to someone else.Kids’ room
Now, the kids’ room can be really troublesome. If your kids are old enough, you can include them in the process. Old toys can take up a lot of space and collect dust, but not all of those toys are important keepsakes or hold a lot of meaning. Donate those that your child doesn’t want anymore or simply has no strong feelings about. Also, go through the same process you went yourself when it comes to kids’ clothes. Teenagers have their own aesthetics, but if your kid is still young, they definitely do not need plenty of accessories in their room. The best way to add warmth and texture to their room is by using curtains, cushions and rugs. Actually, unique kids rugs in Australia have become a very popular choice since there are plenty of patterns to choose from and they add a beautiful decorative touch to any room.Kitchen
You probably threw away all of the broken dishes and cutlery but did you actually look in your cabinets? The amount of clutter there can get really overwhelming. Go through all your herbs, teas, canned goods and whatever else you keep in there. You are bound to find some empty bags and containers that collect dust as well as some expired products. If you declutter and reorganize your kitchen storage, you will enjoy spending time in your kitchen much more.Your spring cleaning and decluttering don’t have to take long. Include other family members in the process, so that you can all equally enjoy your new, mess-free life.Gabriella DisendorfDiscover more from Feminine Digest
