There is dignity in Labor” is a common saying when telling people to embrace their craft and be proud of it. However, some people tend to have a hard time dong that when they feel like what they’re dong is not worthy enough or should not be known even when it is not unscrupulous.
Here are few ways to embracing your craft, and owning what you do:
- Accept your talent: There are times where you think your choice of career is not as cool as you wanted or thought– for example– you believe because you are not in tech your career as a Fashion designer s not cool enough which affects how you put yourself out there. Understanding that everyone’s path differs and accepting what you’re good at is the first step to embrace your craft.
- Be Diligent: Stay on course no matter what, and know that challenges are a part of the process. this does not mean you shouldn’t know when to cut your losses.
- Build Consistency: Embracing your craft becomes easy when you practice all the time –same time, every day, and building up great habits. This way you become really good at what you do and a master at your craft.
- Be Vocal about what you do: You’re your number one representative. No one should put their business on their head more than you do, make sure you constantly let people know what you do and the things you represent so they can associate you with it, and refer you where necessary.
- Be Authentic: Be unique with how you express your craft. Avoid copying others, and do things your creative way. Authenticity helps you connect more with people, and it gives your brand a unique voice and feel.
